Summer programs at Children’s House are separate from our school year programs. We have structured our summer to work with family vacations, swim lessons, etc. by offering separate sessions for children ages 18 months to 12 years. We hope this works for your family so that your child can be a part of Children’s House year round.
Children, ages 3-12, newly enrolled in the fall, are required to attend at least two summer sessions. Children, ages 18-36 months are required to attend at least one, four-week session. These weeks provide a wonderful orientation and transition for them. Children waiting for an opening in the Fall who attend our summer program are given priority if an opening becomes available. Children NOT interested in Fall enrollment are still welcome to attend Children’s House in the summer, if space allows.
•Our summer program for Toddlers, ages 18-36 months, is a four or six week program. It begins July 8 and ends August 16. Toddlers attend from 9:00 am to 12: pm, Monday thru Friday. Four week sessions are consecutive and coincide with the dates available for our Primary and Elementary programs. If you are interested in Summer enrollment for your child (age 18-36 months), please complete an Application for Admission and a Summer 2013 - Enrollment form.
•Our Primary (preschool and kindergarten) summer program, for children ages 3-5 years, is from 9:00 - 1:00, 5 days per week, from June 24 - August 16. Children can attend 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks. Our primary summer program is similar to our yearly Montessori program with an added emphasis on weekly themes incorporating art projects, gardening, cooking, music, geography and science. See our Primary Summer Session Descriptions for details about each session’s theme. If you are interested in Summer enrollment for your child (age 3-5), please complete an Application for Admission and a Summer 2013 - Enrollment form. This form includes Summer rates and dates. Priority enrollment, for summer, is given to Children's House students.
•Our Elementary summer program is for children ages 6-12 and is also from June 24 - August 16. During these 4, two-week sessions, we focus on various studies such as life science, physical science, cultural studies, history, and geography, while typically incorporating drama, art, music, and cooking into each theme. Our Early Elementary teachers will teach four summer camp programs this year. Each teacher brings his or her own individual wealth of experience and knowledge to Children's House and each teacher looks forward to sharing their expertise in one of the four fabulous camps offered. See our Elementary Summer Session Descriptions for details about each session’s theme. If you are interested in Summer enrollment for your child (age 6-12), please complete an Application for Admission and a Summer 2013 - Enrollment form.
The Enrollment Form includes Summer rates and dates. Priority enrollment, for summer, is given to Children's House students.
A packed lunch should be sent with your child each day. Extended hours are available for children in Primary and Elementary.
